Traverse City Mountain Bike Trails

 Vasa Pathways and Vasa Singletrack

Thousands of Michigan mountain bikers have enjoyed the Vasa Pathways and Vasa Singletrack, and they keep coming back! These trails are used in the Iceman Cometh Challenge, Mud, Sweat, and Beers, and Traverse City Trails Festival every year, not to mention on countless rides and adventures.

Vasa Pathways

The 27-kilometer Vasa Pathways is an accessible trail with rolling hills and wide, fast trails. Designed as a ski trail, it’s used in the Iceman every fall and offers fun, fast riding for riders of all abilities. You can hit the Bartlett Road Trailhead from Einstein Cycles; it’s a short two-mile ride!

The Bartlett Road Trailhead is also home to the Vasa Bike Park, which offers jump lines and a beginner-friendly two-mile skills loop.

Vasa Singletrack

Maintained by the Northern Michigan Mountain Bike Association, the Vasa Singletrack (VST) is a 26-kilometer singletrack trail system with natural, sweeping turns and a relatively flat elevation profile. The trail is accessible from the Supply Road Trailhead, which also features water access, changing rooms, and a pavilion for post-ride refreshments and storytelling.

When the snow flies, the VST becomes the Winter Sports Singletrack. NMMBA grooms the WST for fat biking, snowshoeing, and non-motorized use.
