2nd Annual Ec Paris-Roubaix Party and Ride

Join us this Sunday at 9.30am for a LIVE! viewing party of the Paris-Roubaix!

Celebrate the Queen of the Classics in the Ec Coffee Bar this Sunday, April 12 at 9.30am. Watch the best riders in the world take on the infamous and beautiful cobblestones of Northern France, and stick around for a taste of the action with a There Will Be Blood ride afterwards.

The race should be over around 11.00am, which is the cue for us to take off on a ride of our own. Choose from an easy-paced, no drop ride or a faster, merciless (not really) jaunt of the same 34 mile route that is mostly gravel roads.

Jason Whittaker will lead the faster group, with Jason Lowetz in charge of group two. The route is becoming a classic in its own time, with folks hitting the circuit every weekend this spring to get a taste for the sand and rocks.

The Paris-Roubaix is one of the oldest and most revered sporting events in the world. It's been the focal point of cycling for over 100 years, interrupted only by World Wars. The event sees hundreds of thousands of spectators along the race route, with millions of viewers tuning in from all over the world.

The attraction of the race is the secteurs of pave, centuries old brick and stone roads, some of which date back to days of Napoleon. The rough, often dusty or muddy stretches often change from year-to-year, but have become legendary stretches of road that live in the imagination of riders from all over. The Arenberg Forest, a particularly long and painful stretch of cobbles, is often enough to send chills down the spines of professionals who've ridden it, or amateurs that dream of it.
